Part 1:  Literature Review

 

1.    Conduct a literature review on  Applied social cybersecurity with the purpose of exploring where humans and technology interface in relation to digital identity.

A.   While reviewing the literature, identify the research methodologies in each article and summarise why those particular ones were appropriate.

Note: Select only peer-reviewed articles. Read the articles thoroughly and formulate the review in your own words. Do not copy directly from the paper.

In your literature review, address the following questions for each reviewed paper/article/book.

·         What research methodologies were used and why?

·         What is the goal of the paper?

·         What are the problems they were trying to solve?

·         Where are the research gaps?

·         What is the new contribution of the research?

·         What is highlighted in the conclusion of the paper?

·         How have the author/s evaluated the results?

·         What are the research questions the paper is seeking to address?

Part 2:  Research questions that emerge from the literature

Wordcount: 750 words +/- 10%

Whenever you want to discover something new about a topic, you will ask questions. Therefore, research questions are important in the context of the overall research process and will provide you with necessary guidelines when doing your research.

·         In a small piece of research, you will create a single research question that highlights just one problem or issue.

·         However, in a larger project, you can have multiple research questions.

·         It is key to all research that every question should focus on your main research problem.

·         Your research questions may lead to your research proposal later in the programme.

Part 2 focuses on developing four research questions for your chosen topic.  It is important that you document your thinking and how you have gone about formulating your research questions. 

A.   Write four research questions that explore your Topic.

B.   For each of the proposed research questions, justify why it would be a good question to consider in relation to the research problem or gap your literature review has identified.
