Assessment FOUR: CASE STUDY
Task One:
- Select one of the identified scenarios and familiarise yourself with it.
- Identify key health issues from your patient selected from the case study profiles that have affected or will affect their holistic wellbeing. Use the Te Whare Tapa Whā model and identify at least one key issue from each pillar. Discuss how these affect the patient’s overall health and wellbeing.
- From the scenario choose your five priorities of nursing care and briefly discuss why these are priorities. Your discussion will need to be supported with relevant literature
Task Two:
- Using a health history form write three questions per body system you would ask your chosen patient. These questions need to be relevant to the patient’s presenting complaint or documented health history.
- Give rationale for each of your chosen questions demonstrating an understanding of the patient’s presenting condition. Your discussion will need to be supported with relevant literature.
Task Three:
Identify, define and summarise the pathophysiology of the main health condition for your chosen patient.
Task Four:
- Identify ONE appropriate physical examination assessment that you would reccomend to further support your prioritisation of nursing care.
- Briefly summarise your rationale for recommending that assessment, and support your decision with relevant literature.
