Overview  

In this assessment, you will describe the role of business technologies that support the needs of Force Roading and Property Management Limited (FRPML) in an administration context.

This assessment continues the work you did in Assessment 1.

You will write a report to discuss how current and emerging business technologies you identified in Assessment 1 could meet the needs of FRPML.

You will then record a PowerPoint presentation to recommend and justify those business technologies that you believe can meet the needs of FRPML. You will make the presentation to the Board of Directors, recommending one software, one hardware and one connectivity technology.

Requirements :

• All communication documentation to stakeholders is expected to be professional, ethical and socially and culturally appropriate.
• It is expected that your documentation will be written to an adequate academic standard. APA 7 referencing of resources is required.
• The documentation must be suitable to present to business stakeholders (that is, formatted appropriately and presented in a professional and business-like manner).
• Include evidence of software, hardware and connectivity solutions in the research of business technologies for your proposal.
• Any cloud-based job dispatching software solutions must be compatible with the Aotearoa New Zealand version of Xero software.
• Refer to the Marking Schedule to ensure you meet the assessment requirements and to see how marks are allocated.

Part A

The FRPML Board of Directors have accepted your review of the limitations of the current job dispatching system (as outlined in Assessment 1), and you are now moving to the next step of writing and presenting your recommendations.

You will assume the role of a senior administrator who has been asked to select and discuss current and emerging business technologies to support and improve the operation of the organisation. You have also been asked to make recommendations for business technologies that improve and support the operation of the job dispatching system at FRPML.

Task 1

a. Identify three cloud-based job dispatching software solutions that will integrate with the Xero accounting system (for example, Simpro or Trackit). For each software solution, examine and describe its features and benefits and explain how these will be effective, efficient replacements of the existing technology used in the job dispatching system.

b. In a table or Excel spreadsheet, add the features and benefits of the three solutions, and map these to each of the requirements of the job dispatching system and associated administrator functions described in the BSNS5203 Assessment Scenario

c. Explain and provide an example of how each of the three job dispatching software solutions fits with the operations of field and office staff.

Task 2

a. Describe the features and benefits of three smartphone (hardware) options and three mobile data and calling plans (connectivity) from a variety of different providers. Examine each hardware and connectivity solution and analyse how these will be effective and efficient in supporting the mobility requirements of the job dispatching system.

b. Explain and provide examples of how each of the three hardware and three connectivity solutions fits with the mobile operational needs of staff and is compatible with the job dispatching system.

Task 3

a. Recommend one software solution (from Task 1), plus one hardware option and one connectivity package (from Task 2). Explain how the software solution, hardware option and connectivity package would meet the requirements of the job dispatching system for FRPML.

Task 4

Now that you have answered the questions above, use this information to create a PowerPoint presentation of no more than 10 slides for the FRPML Board of Directors recommending one software, one hardware and one connectivity technology suitable for the job dispatching system.

Record a voiceover on the PowerPoint explaining the content of your slides. The recording should be 8–10 minutes.

The presentation slides should cover the following:
