Assessment Overview

In Assessments 1 and 2, you examined how organisations in Aotearoa New Zealand are structured and how they build stakeholder relationships guided by bicultural partnerships.

This final assessment shifts the focus to you as a professional. You will outline ethical decision making and communication across cultures in real situations, and reflect on your learning and own approaches. This assessment, therefore, develops both ethical professionalism and effective communication in culturally diverse contexts.

There are four tasks to complete.

Task 1: Professional and ethical analysis – Situation

Identify a past work or community situation that involved a professional or ethical issue.

  1. Describe the situation, who was involved, and what the issue was.
  2. Apply one ethical framework to evaluate the decisions or actions taken.
  3. Explain how organisational values, codes of conduct or professional standards relate to the issue.

Reflect on what you learned from the Task 1 situation about maintaining trust, accountability and professionalism in Aotearoa New Zealand workplaces.
