Assessment Tasks
Task 1 (LO1): Critical Research Evaluation
Length: ~1,000 words
Select one peer-reviewed research article relevant to a professional topic within healthcare or business informatics. Conduct a critical literature review that includes:
- An evaluation of the research design and methodology used in the study
- A discussion of the alignment between research questions, methods, and conclusion
- A synthesis of the findings to formulate clear, justified implications for professional practice or policy in your chosen context
Task 2 (LO2): Methodology Critique and Adaptation
Length: ~500 words
Choose a commonly used qualitative research method (e.g., interviews, focus groups, or observational studies) and complete the following:
- Critically evaluate how the chosen method may lack cultural sensitivity when applied to research involving diverse populations
- Propose specific adaptations or alternative approaches that enhance its cultural appropriateness, supporting your proposed adaptations with evidence from academic literature or relevant case studies
Task 3 (LO2): Research Proposal Development
Length: 1,500–2,000 words (excluding references)
Develop a concise research proposal that investigates a topic relevant to a culturally diverse population (e.g., Indigenous populations, migrant communities). Your proposal must include:

- Introduction and Background
- Define the issue and explain why it is important for the selected population
