Research ePoster
The major individual output of the paper is a research ePoster. A research ePoster is an alternative way of presenting research and is often used where results are preliminary or the research is “workin-progress”. An ePoster is a bit like the front page of a newspaper. Text is often presented in columns or in boxes and is supplemented by tables, figures, images etc.
For this assignment, you are not required to actually carry out any research; instead, you are to present your research outline and proposed results in the form of an ePoster. The rubric below provides a guideline as to what is expected. You should choose a topic you are interested in and look at a minimum of 20 different literature sources to start to understand your topic. A good idea is to use google scholar and search for recent literature in your topic. For instance, if you wanted to look at the use of blockchain technologies in food supply chains search for these terms together and then look at recent literature (perhaps in the last five years but this will depend on your topic). At first, review the abstract (to give you an overview), methodology (to give your ideas on our method) and conclusions (to review directions for future research, which should give you some big hints on where you can head with your proposed research). You should discuss your proposed topic with the paper convenor before starting.
The difference between a traditional poster and an ePoster should be obvious, but the key difference is that the ePoster is designed to be viewed on screen, not printed. You are required to present your ePoster as a multimedia, dynamic, one-page PowerPoint presentation. You are welcome to use another software to create this but the end result should be similar and PowerPoint is all you need. The ePoster should be viewable on a widescreen monitor (16:9 ratio). It should contain appropriate digital elements such as looping video, looping audio commentary, animation. See the following table for more tips on the type of content to include in your ePoster.
