This assessment will assess the following learning outcomes and will contribute 20% to your final grade:

LO1 Select and describe medical imaging techniques for specialised procedures, trauma imaging, fluoroscopy studies, and advanced imaging.

Topic 1: Hysterosalpinogram (HSG)

Part 1.1

• Discuss and justify the preparation needed for an HSG procedure.
  o Include: informed consent, contrast along with other medication preparation and equipment needed.
• Discuss the potential complications and contraindications involved with an HSG.

Part 1.2

•  Describe the step by step process for conducting an HSG.
  o Included should be the responsibilities of the radiologist and the MIT assisting in the procedure.

Part 1.3

•  Provide imaging of an HSG.
  o Critique the images and radiographic appearances of the imaging provided, include any pathology seen

Topic 2: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)

Part 2.1

• Discuss the radiation and aseptic technique considerations used when performing imaging of an ERCP in theatre.

Part 2.2

•  Describe the step by step process for conducting an ERCP.
  o Included should be the anatomy involved in detail.

Part 2.3

• Provide imaging of an ERCP.
  o Critique the images and radiographic appearances of the imaging provided.
  o Link the radiographic appearances of the imaging provided with clinical indications for performing and ERCP.

Topic 3: Stitching and Full length imaging

Part 3.1

• Discuss and justify the technical factors involved in imaging a full length spine for scoliosis.

Part 3.2

•  Choose one pathology that can be assessed on stitching imaging of the legs.
  o Describe the etiology and radiographic appearances of the pathology chosen.

Part 3.3

•  Provide imaging of a stitching examination.
  o Critique the images provided.

Topic 4: MRI arthrogram

Part 4.1

• Discuss and justify the preparation needed for an MRI arthrogram procedure.
  o Include: informed consent, contrast and other medication preparation and equipment
  needed.
•  Discuss the potential complications and contraindications involved with an arthrogram

Part 4.2

•  Describe the step by step process for conducting an MRI arthrogram (primarily the pre-MRI injection examination).
  o Included should be the responsibilities of the radiologist and the MIT assisting in the procedure.

Part 4.3

• Provide imaging of an MRI arthrogram.
  o Critique the images and radiographic appearances of the imaging provided.
