Introduction
Through this assignment, you will develop a presentation of your chosen curriculum field and become familiar with some of the current key issues and trends within this field.
The curriculum fields you can choose from are
• Mātauranga Māori
• Infants and toddlers
• Pasifika education
• Education for sustainability
Preparation To achieve this understanding of the field you will need to read widely including peer-reviewed articles, reviews and/or reports. Ensure that you include a minimum of four (4) sources in total and that you draw on empirical and theoretical literature. This will be presented to your peers online in week 6. Choose a presentation tool that you are familiar with (e.g. Prezi, PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc.).
Task Part A: Create the presentation tool (500 words). Investigate early childhood literacy in relation to your curriculum field. Present the key issues and trends within your chosen field in the chosen presentation tool format. Include in your presentation, details of key writers and the significant topics and debates that are currently being inquired into and spoken about in the field. Include a list of references at the end of your presentation tool.
Part B: Present the presentation tool Present to your peers in the relevant forum in week 6 and prepare for any discussion by anticipating any questions or comments by other students after being an audience at your presentation.
Part C: Evaluation (two parts) Contribute to an evaluation on the creation of your own presentation tool. Then provide constructive feedback to another person on their presentation. The format for these tasks is available on Pou Manawa Akoranga. You must submit both evaluations as part of the assessment.
