Assignment Instructions

You are the manager of a team of employees. This can be within any business setting you choose. You have noticed there is a lack of consistency and effectiveness in communication between your team members and stakeholders.

You have decided to run a workshop to improve communication between your team members and other stakeholders. Part of the workshop will be a presentation which will include standardising some communication strategies which will contribute to improving outcomes in achieving business operational objectives.

The format for this assessment is a slide presentation:

Tasks 1, 2 & 3 are to be presented in a slide show presentation. This must include:

• A slide presentation
• Speaker notes on each slide
• A video of the student presenting the slide presentation

Presentations are to be no longer than 25 minutes.

Slide Presentation Instructions:

The introduction slide should include the subject title and student’s name. Citations are to be included on the slides where applicable and the last slide is for the Reference List.

The presentation must:

• Include speaker notes – as these are speaker notes, they do not need to be full sentences but must guide your narration.
• Slides are easy to read, with no more than 30 words per slide.
• Be presented clearly, professionally, and appropriately for the audience.
• Effectively deliver the content and engage with the audience.

Task 1: Contemporary Business Communication Strategies (LO1) 

a)Describe two (2) contemporary communication strategies your team will use to meet operational objectives.

Include the two (2) operational objectives the strategies will enhance or achieve.

Provide a minimum of two (2) credible sources for your strategies.

b) Explain how the two (2) strategies will be applied in the business to meet the business operational objectives.

The explanation will include two (2) of the following components:

• Messaging
• Channels
• Steps/Actions

C) Justify how your two (2) communication strategies will enhance or achieve the operational objectives. (Two (2) reasons are required.)

Minimum of one (1) credible source referenced.

d) Explain how your team will measure the success of these strategies.

Task 2: Strategies to Overcome Barriers to Communication (LO1)

a) Describe three (3) types of barriers that could hinder the effectiveness of the communication strategies provided in Task 1. (Include how they create a barrier to communication).

Minimum of two (2) credible sources referenced.

b)Describe three (3) different techniques that your team could use to overcome the three (3) barriers and justify your answers.

Task 3:  Creating and Maintaining Sustainable Relationships with Stakeholders  (LO2) –

a)Explain how we can create good relationships with key business stakeholders. Minimum of two (2) credible sources referenced for your strategies.

b) Describe three (3) strategies your team will use to build and maintain sustainable business relationships with stakeholders.

c) Explain two (2) benefits of building strong relationships with stakeholders (2 marks) and justify how these benefits will contribute to long-term success and sustainability of these relationships (2 marks) Minimum of two (2) credible sources referenced for your strategies.

d) Describe two (2) success indicators that your team will use to measure the impact of the two (2) strategies for building sustainable relationships. (6 marks – 3 marks for each metric or indicator)

e) Explain two (2) strategies your team will use to restore a breakdown in a business relationship you may have with a stakeholder.
