Title of research:
The AI Revolution: Investigating How Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) Are Adapting to AI in the Manufacturing Sector in New Zealand
Aim of the research:
The aim of this research is to explore how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in New Zealand are adapting to and integrating emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), by analysing two manufacturing subsectors. To accomplish this, the research establishes the following objectives and questions:

- To examine the adoption and usage of AI among small and medium-sized enterprises in the New Zealand Food & Beverage and Machinery & Equipment manufacturing subsectors.
- To understand and analyse the areas where AI is being applied by small and medium-sized enterprises in the New Zealand Food & Beverage and Machinery & Equipment manufacturing subsectors.
- To identify the key challenges that small and medium-sized enterprises in the New Zealand Food & Beverage and Machinery & Equipment manufacturing subsectors face when implementing AI technologies.
- To provide suggestions for small and medium-sized enterprises in the New Zealand Food & Beverage and Machinery & Equipment manufacturing subsectors on how to transition to and leverage AI technologies.
