Instructions Specific to Report Writing:

Font Size and Style:

  • Your report should be word processed such as (DOC, DOCX, or RTF).
  • Do not use a font bigger than 12 for the body, or bigger than 14 for the title.
  • Fonts should be Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri, or Tw Cen MT.
  • The font used in your title may be slightly larger than the font used for the body. Titles fonts can be more decorative, but still, need to be legible. No word art!
  • You should include a title page (apart from the requirements on the next page) with necessary details such as student name, ID, teacher/tutor name, assignment title, and submission date.
  • You should demonstrate the evidence of applying concepts/theories learned from this module with logical examples and analysis.
  • You should submit a soft copy of the report to Turnitin for plagiarism check and in case of presentations uploaded on Moodle.
  • You also need to submit a hard copy once the report is cleared from Turnitin with this assessment coversheet.

Spacing and Margins:

  • Text should be 1.5 spaced, no extra spaces between the paragraphs. Should be able to see new paragraphs from the indentation.
  • Margins should be left justified and be about 2.5cm wide. Top 2.5 bottom 2cm. Do not hit ‘enter’ at the end of every row, only at the end of a paragraph.
  • There should be two spaces after each period and one space after each comma. Use the tab bottom to indent a paragraph.
  • All titles and headings should be typed and centered. Do not use the space bar to indent or center. Highlight what you want to change, and then use the correct command.

Page Numbers:

  • Except for the cover page each and every page must be numbered. The number should be in the bottom right of the page with a total number of pages.

Foot Note:

  • Each page must carry the student’s first name, ID number, programme and the due date in eight digits.

Spelling and Grammar:

  • Always spell check your document, then read it yourself looking for errors. Spell check will not catch mistakes like the difference between ‘to’ and ‘two’.

Reference:

  • Must follow the APA Sixth format.

Plagiarism:

  • Before submitting an assessment, students must check their work for plagiarism and be sure the similarity index should be less than 20%.
  • Sign the front page for authenticity declaration.
