Learning Outcome

Assignment Instructions
Prepare a case analysis of a New Zealand company selected in consultation with your lecturer. A list of possible cases will be provided in class. Your case analysis should be based on your own desk research of publicly available recent resources (i.e., do not approach the company) and should utilise suitable terminology. Your case analysis should do the following:
- Outline the ways the focal company is currently utilising the unique capabilities of internet technologies to facilitate e-business (also known as digital business) in its current operations. Use ONE (1) of the frameworks discussed in class to evaluate the company’s current use of e-business strategies. (30 marks)
- Select ONE (1) e-business-related function that is pivotal to the company’s commercial success and justify your selection. Then critically evaluate the company’s current performance using this function in its current business offering. Your critical evaluation should include industry insights and best practice examples and utilise suitable terminology. (50 marks)
- Outline ONE (1) key actionable recommendation that the company could implement to enhance its current e-business capabilities. Justify your recommendation using key take-outs from #2 and knowledge gained from researching leading e-business practices. (20 marks)
Marking Rubric
Each section is graded from D- (0–39%) to A (80–100%). Top-band work gives an effective, succinct and well-documented summary of the company’s e-business strategies with a clearly identified focus for the evaluation, a critical evaluation of the chosen function supported by industry insights and best practice, and a well-justified, actionable recommendation drawn from that evaluation.

MKTG903 Assignment 2 puts half of the marks on the critical evaluation of one function, so choose a New Zealand company with enough public material to judge it, such as a retailer, airline, bank or online marketplace. Apply one class framework, for example the business model canvas, the 7Cs of the customer interface or the e-business value chain, to show how the company uses interactivity, personalisation, data and platforms today. Then evaluate a single function, such as e-commerce fulfilment, mobile app engagement or CRM, against industry benchmarks, and build one recommendation directly from the gaps you found. Our marketing assignment help in New Zealand and case study help can guide your framework choice and APA 7th referencing.
